African Women's Development Fund (AWDF) organised a one-day Convening in Kampala on November 2010 where it intends to establish a regional focal office before the end of 2011. The Convening was attended by over

20 grantees from countries from the regions Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda and who are the Immediate beneficiaries of this initiative. The purpose of the Convening was threefold; to Update the grantees on the planned organisational changes in the AWDF, to seek the grantees views and contributions on AWDF's planned strategic focus over the next ten years (2010 -2020); and to discuss new emerging issues affecting women's development and women's right organisations and to collectively map out a strategy to address these In East Africa.
