The Refugee Consortium Kenya (RCK) developed this booklet as a useful and important information awareness tool for refugees and asylum seekers to help them understand what Gender Based Violence (GBV) is, how to recognize and prevent it within the community, sensitize them on their rights and protective measures as accorded by various Kenyan laws (such as The Sexual Offences Act 2006, The Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act 2011, The Counter-Trafficking in Person's Act 2010, The Children Act 2001 and The Penal Code of Kenya), and empower them to be aware and be the change to stop GBV in the communities they live in.
