Women’s Experiences as Sources of Public and Legitimate Knowledge: Constitution Making in Kenya
This paper is organized into four sections. Analysis of methods and processes
that influenced the drafting of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) are addressed. It
examines how women‟s knowledge and methodological tools informed the process
and the product to become one of the most people-friendly constitutions in the
region. Moreover, it shows how important it is to bring to greater visibility women‟s
experiences and views as a core part of public discourse.
