Country Research: Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
This research aims to develop an understanding of women's leadership in conflict and post-conflict contexts and to develop a common political agenda through strengthening women's movement building. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), whilst having the potential to be a rich country, is in fact, a poor country. Corruption and armed conflicts in particular have inhabited infrastructure development and, hence, has complicated the access of the majority of the population to basic services as well as the protection and promotion of basic rights.
