The y ear 2002 h as be en one of steady growth for

an emerging philanthropic institution in Africa. We

have increased our staff capacity, enhanced our

grant-making systems, developed effective

communications tools, and we continue to expand

our donor base. Since we started awarding grants

in October 2001, we h ave made grants to 108

women 's organisations in 30 countries amounting

to US$848,000.
