In November 2005, the AWDF

marked its fifth anniversary with the

launch of an HIV/AIDS Fund and a

roundtable discussion event, which

was held in collaboration with the

Africa Diaspora Forum of the

African Union. Discussions were

held with a cross-section of women

leaders from within and outside

Africa, highlighting and proffering

strategies on the way forward on

contemporary issues affecting

especially African women.
