The conference explored traditional family values with the aim of empowering African families to respond comprehensively to the AIDS epidemic in Africa, paying special attention to women, youth and children in difficult circumstances. The conference was packaged to address the totality of issues that impact on the epidemic in Africa, and to find durable solutions to mitigate the impact of the disease in the continent as well as to stop its spread.
